Finding yourself at the end of yet another failed diet does nothing for your self-esteem. It leaves you feeling desperate and believing that you’re a failure. That simply is not the case.
How would you feel if I told you the ‘weight-loss’ companies out there actually want you to fail? Controversial I know but think about it if everyone who walked through their doors actually lost their excess weight and then maintained it. Would they still have a business?
No of course not!
Why do you think they come up with more innovative names or styles of diets year in and year out? It’s a business that is worth Billions of Dollars a year to them and you, if you are overweight are simply a commodity.
So, that is the masses, a commodity for hungry weight-loss corporations. There are of course people that were overweight, who were totally desperate to fight the flab and find the final solution. Of course many of these people failed in their first several attempts, but went on to succeed and drop all the weight they wanted and manage to keep it off forever.
How did they do it?
We all know there is no magic wand or magic diet pill; these successes had to do it the good old fashioned way and commit themselves for not only the short term but the long term too. They changed their eating habits, got off their butts and started to move on a regular basis.
Here’s the thing, if they can do it, there is absolutely nothing stopping you doing it too!
Switch Your Eating Behaviours
The world we live in now if full of pre-packed and processed foods. The consequences of this is that the population is more overweight and obese than ever before, resulting in for the first time ever that many of the adults in the world will outlive their obese children. The risk of heart disease and diabetes are so much higher in overweight people and if you’re obese it’s almost a matter of when and not if you get these diseases.
So what can you do about it? Well it’s a lot easier than you first think. You can remove the risks related to obesity or being overweight quite simply by throwing these pre-packed foods in the rubbish cart (where they belong). Does this sound too good to be true? It’s that simple. Change your eating behaviours from processed foods to healthier natural food of fruits, vegetables, fish, lean meats, poultry, seeds and raw nuts.
It may take time to change your habits but change you must if you want to live a healthy lifestyle. It’s like any other habit, it has to be worked it. After all, how long did it take you to pile the excess weight on? Not overnight was it! You need to make gradual changes, introduce fresh foods to the family over a period of time then tweak and you’re on the right road to success for the long term. Put a piece of fruit in your lunch box instead of a packet of chips or a doughnut, have a cereal for breakfast instead of bacon & eggs or pancakes. If you’re a family that eats out quite often, try cutting that down to once or twice a week; you could even save money this way!
Move Your Butt
Yes I know for some at the beginning this can sound like a dirty word. Well it’s a fact that we need to move our bodies. Getting out and moving our body does not have to cost any money, after all unless you have a disability walking is something we do naturally. At every opportunity walk when you can, climb the stairs rather than take the elevator. The chances are you have heard that before but if you want to lose weight and stay healthy then you have to understand that it’s not all about what you eat, it’s also about what your body does on a daily basis. After all, if someone sits around the house all day doing nothing but eats well, then yes they may not be overweight, but they sure won’t be healthy.
Do what you like to do, dance, walk, walk the dog, play football but do something, it really is important. You will notice then that your metabolism will kick into action and help you burn up calories and therefore help in your quest to lose weight and get healthy.
Be Unswerving to Your Healthy Eating Plan
It’s never too late, except when they put the lid on your box. Sorry but that’s true, you have to look after yourself now, you deserve a long happy life. I wish you every success but don’t think of diet, think that at this precise moment of reading this IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO LOSE WEIGHT. Be committed as its hard work, but so is being overweight isn’t it? You may feel down at times, but surely that’s how you feel at the moment?
